re: "and it IS true that the new pipeline IS better, and transports the BEST oil"

Really? I'm shaking in my blue suede shoes, literally and figuratively. For cripes sakes, the ground is shaking!

The Dakota Access Pipeline will be transporting "fracked" crude oil from the Bakken Formation. The Standing Rock protestors are also protesting hydraulic fracturing (a.k.a. "fracking").

How would you like to have several fracked oil and gas wells (and other petrol sites) installed right next to your house? "We live in a fracked up country, but thanks to Dick Cheney, there’s pretty much nothing we can do about it."http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/21828-time-to-end-the-cheney-halliburton-loophole

I say, THANK YOU! to the Standing Rock protestors and water protectors. I am proud of you.

Most petrol junkies have heard about the pathetic 5.0 magnitude earthquake that rattled downtown Cushing, Oklahoma recently on Nov 6, 2016.
"Last year, Oklahoma experienced more than 1,000 earthquakes measuring at least 3.0 in magnitude; that’s up from fewer than two in 2008. The state is now the most seismically active in the continental U.S. Seismologists believe the quakes there are the result of wastewater injection wells used by the oil and gas industry [for fracking]. – http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2016/11/08/431809.htm
Also on Nov 6, 2016, The USGS is reporting a 3.1 magnitude earthquake in Weld County, Colorado. This earthquake was felt in Greeley, Evans and LaSalle.
William Yeck, a research geophysicist at the National Earthquake Information Center says Sunday's earthquake occurred in roughly the same area as a quake in the summer of 2014.

"There's a sequence that started in 2014 around June 1," said Yeck. "It was a magnitude 3.2 and some earthquakes afterwards. Those were linked to wastewater injection. This earthquake occurred fairly close to that but we can't say if it's either a natural earthquake or a human caused earthquake." – http://www.coloradoan.com/story/news/local/colorado/2016/11/06/earthquake-felt-weld-county/93409752/

Weld County, Colorado is the next county over from mine, Larimer County. Today, Weld County has about 19,000 oil and gas wells. University of Northern Colorado is in Greeley, which is Weld County. Colorado State University is in Fort Collins, which is Larimer County. [https://www.google.com/search?q=how+far+is+fort+collins+from+Greeley]

Ha--Monte, I didn't say "source"; I made the point of the "type"...now for your homework, research that and report back...it is already "out", and can't be put back...if you give up your plastic computer, and your petro tape products (rats!!) we can keep talking...

Hang in there--we don't want to get deleted for fake news!!

I very rarely, hardly ever use my car - maybe several times per year. So I use way, way, way less petrol than most of you. I love not being tethered to my car! That's freedom. But, of course, I'm still (always was, always will be) a petrol junkie. Being an outdoors lover, action figure (bad-guy type), and an athletic-like enegizer-bunny freak, I'm always dressed like a runner, and that's how I'm prepared to act anytime I'm outdoors walking, hiking, bicycle riding, shortcutting, or doing food-runs and routine chores. I love being outdoors and on-the-go. I wear the best state-of-the-art polyester/nylon/spandex active-wear clothing (waterproof, windproof, breathable). Not to mention, I can't cook or grow food too well. I purchase my food items at my supermarket. All of it is sold in plastic containers. Nearly everything we use today comes in a plastic container and/or it's wrapped in plastic.

re: "the man" spying on people, profiling people, creating new registries, and doing my homework

Seeing as how me, and many others similar to me, are using way, way, way less petrol than many of you are, I thought this would be a good time to start a new registry: the Petroleum Pipedream Registry.

It's the same thing as a Medical Marijuana Registry: registered caregivers grow marijuana for registered mmj patients who cannot grow for themselves; and any extra mmj - grown in the name of the patient, by the caregiver - that's leftover, can be used for, sold to, or given to other registered mmj patients.

So, I'm creating a new 1000 Petawatt diesel generator farm out east of Greeley, just outside of town. All of my generators will be hooked up to dummy loads. This is to get Exxon/Mobil's attention, and maybe I can make some big money. This is my design for the new Petroleum Pipedream Registry. I will register myself as a near-zero petrol junkie user. In my name, you can run 10 engines, say about 500 horsepower each, 24 hours a day. This is my guesswork, according to how much Rex Tillerson wants each of us to be using normally, in order to have a healthy economy.

You are a credit, Monte, and I am not being sarcastic... And of course, we shud all do what we can...and drawing attn to shifting away from fossil fuels is good. I daresay you, Liz and telex are BETTER role models than the indigenous folks in this snafu.

In AZ the hypocrisy of those using "sacred" and "mother earth" as a battle cry is absurd--it really has no substance following the degree to which it is stretch'd to serve and dropped for expediency faster than fast....

I just stand by there being better examples...

Freaky climate change weather question for you:

Is the temperature at the North Pole right now - in the winter - warmer than the temperature at the South Pole right now - in the summer?

Yes, hell yes! It is way, way, way warmer at the North Pole right now - about 40 or 45 degrees F warmer than at the South Pole!!! That is freaky!
